Our week + Oct. 2nd

We are having a slow morning - Luke slept till 9 so naturally we all slept till 9! The little storm we are getting from the hurricane is here but I think all we will get is wind and rain with a high surf advisory that tempts Noah to go out. This week was slow but good getting things together and done before our trip next week! We are so excited to be able to have a longer trip before Makai is born! & able to be there to meet our sweet nephew when he is born!!

This weekend is a special one for us ..

One year ago on the first Noah graduated from basic training! That day is one of my favorites. There were so many emotions being back together and I was so proud watching Noah graduate & so happy to be back together as a family. I can't believe that is has been a year and how much has changed since then.

Oct 2nd .. is 5 years together! 5 years ago Noah asked me to be his girlfriend and call us crazy but two weeks into dating we knew that we were going to get married. a year later he proposed which brought us to where we are now. Looking back it feels like a whirlwind of a life but nothing we have done has ever felt rushed but has happened in the Lord's perfect timing with peace in every step of the way.

Something we feel has been really helpful to us in our marriage is on our 2nd wedding anniversary we sat down together with the challenge of creating our Marriage Mission Statement and setting up "Pillars" that we can lean on to help hold us accountable to it.

A few of the Pillars that we included is ..

Prayer / as a couple we want to give everything up to the Lord. [Phil. 4:6]

Love / aim to do everything with love even when we don't feel like it. [1 Cor. 16:14]

Gate keepers / to stand firm in our faith & to be watchful of what we allow in our home. [Phil 4:8]

Team / we are a team. always for each other - leaning into the Lord. [Eccles 4:12]

"You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail." Prov. 19:21
