life as of lately
This morning ...
Luke woke up at 4am from a little cold and had a rough time getting back to sleep so we decided to make the most of the morning and went to the beach to catch the sunrise. Noah surfed the few good waves that the storm brought in while Luke and I waited to see the sunrise from the beach. It wasn't anything spectacular but the Lord is good and reminded me of that with a song that came on singing -
"For all creation sings your song I will join them, declaring your glory.."
Luke has been doing good, he is completely weaned from "milky" and to our surprise did a lot better than we thought he would! We are still working on the whole potty training thing - but he will get it eventually! He loves little bear with cheese sticks, is completely obsessed with dumbo lately, the movie and his stuffed animal & the old Disney show Little Toot! He loves to go to the park, coffee shops, the beach - surfing with daddy, playing baseball & asking daily if we can go to a baseball game, seeing his friends (which really is anyone the same size as him,) riding his scooter at the skate park and then going into the surf shop to see the "ladies" and touch all the surfboards. To sum it all up he's a full on 2 year old who has also been learning the art of throwing fits - it's a good thing he's cute. <3
Noah here - Whit asked me to hop on and give a little update!
First off God is so good! We have been able to make a solid group of friends that love Jesus and surfing together. The weather has been so nice and on top of it all hurricane season is upon us aka good wave season! But with that also comes my job insurance... Work has been good lately but we have had a lot going on. From Law Enforcement to Search and Rescue we have started off this season busy. This last patrol we were able to help a family caught 36 miles off the coast of North Carolina while taking on water and DIW. We were able to arrive on scene, provide dewatering pumps and put them in tow. It was a 6.5 hour tow in the middle of a storm with 4-6ft seas but at the end of it all we were able to get 9 persons back home safely. Once we got them passed off to Sea Tow we were called out to investigate a container ship suspected of human trafficking. This was another long ordeal that lasted until we were able escort them to shore and passed them off to the jurisdiction of Virginia PD. This is just the start to a busy season. After countless engineering casualty's and many long nights we were able to end this months patrol on a good note, escorting the Uruguayan Government out to sea sailing our refurbished patrol boats. It has been a long run for these boats and they have served the US public for over 20 years and was great to see that another country will be able to use the same boats to carry out the mission of keeping their coast protected with them. While it has been tough being away from home I have been enjoying my job and have learned a lot while doing it! (Noah won't brag but he was also given a coin recognizing his honor, respect and devotion to duty & I'm proud of him :'))
"and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
